Your information

Privacy Policy

How DB Events & Consulting handles personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.

Who is responsible

DB Events (Pty) Ltd, trading as DB Events & Consulting, is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website.

Our Information Officer is Danny Blumberg. Send privacy enquiries and requests to info@dbevents.co.za or call 082 337 1789.

What we collect and why

When you enquire or request a consultation, we collect your name, email address, phone number, optional company, service interest, province, message and any preferred appointment details. We use this information to respond, assess your requirements and arrange a conversation. Please avoid sending identity documents, financial information or other sensitive personal information through the form.

The required fields are needed to respond to your request. If you choose not to provide them, you can still contact us directly. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.

We process information to take steps at your request, communicate about the services you seek and pursue legitimate business purposes in accordance with POPIA. We record your acknowledgement of this notice. A non-reversible keyed representation of your network address helps protect the form against abuse.

Service providers and transfers

Our authorised website and technology providers process information on our behalf to host the site, store enquiries and send email notifications. They are Flick Media, Vercel, Supabase and Resend. Some of these providers process data outside South Africa. Where they do, we only share information with providers bound by agreements or laws that give it protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 requires.

Retention and security

Access to enquiries is restricted to authorised people and systems. We keep enquiry and consultation requests for 90 days, then delete them. If your enquiry becomes a booking, the information we need to deliver your event is kept under that agreement for as long as the law requires. Requests for earlier deletion will be assessed against applicable legal and contractual requirements.

Your rights

You may request confirmation of information held about you, access to it, and correction or deletion where appropriate. You may object to processing and withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Withdrawing consent does not affect lawful processing already completed. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

Cookies, media and analytics

Essential cookies may be used for staff sessions or to restrict access to the site while it is being updated. Optional analytics through Google Tag Manager loads only if configured, and Google Analytics only records your visit once you choose to allow it. Your device defaults to denying analytics storage until you make that choice. You can change it through the analytics settings control when analytics is available.

Vimeo footage and an optional external booking calendar load when you choose to open them. These providers receive technical information needed to deliver their content. Instagram media is shown when the business account is connected; visiting a social link is subject to that platform's privacy practices.

Changes

We will update this notice when our processing changes. Last updated 20 October 2026.
