With the Soweto Marathon Trust, db events & consulting takes the lead in organising this event and manages the project from start to finish. The Soweto Marathon takes place annually on the first Sunday in November. The event comprises a three-day expo, managed by Conker Exhibitions as well as a 10km race, half-marathon and marathon. The event started on Stadium Avenue, Nasrec, and finished in the iconic FNB Stadium.
The db events team is proud to have been associated with this event since 2015.
The event, in which more than 40 countries are represented, saw runners running through the capital city, with plenty of entertainment, a food market, photo booth and corporate hospitality sites.
db events, together with the Optimize team, Gauteng Provincial Government, AGN and City of Tshwane, delivered successful events in 2018 and 2019. The events comprised of a 21km, 10km and 5km walk. The 5km walk included heritage sites in Pretoria. There was a wreath laying ceremony to honour Madiba. Following this, participants enjoyed a day of entertainment hosted on the lawns of the Union Buildings.
2019 saw the inaugural Gauteng Night Run. The event kick started the Arnold Classic. The runners enjoyed the tough route. The event also had great entertainment post the run. Look out for the 2020 edition of this event.
With the Mscsports team, we organised the Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk at Loftus Versfeld. Once participants crossed the finish line, they made their way to the finish village where they could enjoy delicious food, two live acts, a beer garden, loads of entertainment and a kiddies area.
db events was again responsible for organising this event for charity - Hospice Wits & the Smile Foundation. The event is hosted by Melrose Arch in Johannesburg and takes the walkers along a 5km route through the scenic area and Ethel Grey Park. After the walk, participants are invited to go for breakfast or brunch at one of the restaurants, while their kids can safely play in the kiddies area.
Melrose Arch has worked with db events for 5 years on the Walking on Sunshine Spring Walk. Danny and his team have delivered exceptional service and we would not hesitate to recommend them for a small to large size event or activation.

This communication serves to confirm that db events headed by Mr Danny Blumberg served as race director for the Diacore Gaborone Marathon 2015 and overlying executive producers of the event in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 .
Throughout all races Danny and his team displayed exceptional capability and an unwavering commitment to delivering an event of the highest possible standards.The DB events team was not only highly skilled but through the leadership of Mr Blumberg our local team which comprises of over 20 young people as well as roughly 300 volunteers was given the guidance and motivation needed to deliver a world class event. His admirable qualities as a leader also shone through in ensuring that all sponsors were made to feel valued and their every need taken care of.
Danny is incredibly frugal and impressed us with his ability to maintain strict controls on budget while not compromising the quality of the race in any way. As such this allowed our organisation to do even more good work within our communities with the available resources.
It has been an absolute privilege and pleasure working with this loyal and dedicated team and we have every faith that we have found the right partner to help us achieve our goals of creating a leading international running event while serving our communities in a meaningful and sustainable way.

The second Bedford Walk for Charity was a greater success than the previous. With over 100 participants and over R80 000 raised for our two charities, St Giles and Avalon.
Working with db Events, was easy and efficient. Nothing was too much and it was fantastic to work with a team who had the same goals in mind, to create a successful event as well as to raise as much money as possible for our two deserving charities.
